What is the difference between a primary ALEC Member and a family Member? A primary ALEC member is an Abbott, AbbVie or Hospira employee or former employee or retiree. A primary member can invite immediate family members to join. Eligible family members include:

How can I change my address? If you wish to request a change of address for your ALEC accounts, requests can be made from the Personal Information page, found under the Self Service tab in Online Banking. Click here to log into Online Banking.

How do I find a surcharge-free ATM? You can locate a surcharge-free ATM using our online locator.
How do I wire funds to my ALEC account? Please use our Incoming Wire Instructions to send funds to your ALEC account from another financial institution.

How do I initiate a direct deposit into my ALEC account? To begin direct deposit of your Abbott, AbbVie or Hospira payroll, click on the corresponding link below to print your required forms.

For other payroll deductions, contact your payroll department for required forms. You will need to give your payroll department ALECís Routing and Transit number and your ALEC member number or a copy of a voided ALEC Check.

Do I need to contact ALEC when traveling abroad and using my ALEC Debit Card or ALEC Rewards Visa® card? At ALEC, security is one of our top priorities. To help protect your personal identity and ALEC accounts against fraudulent activity, we may occasionally block transactions in foreign countries and other areas where fraud is widespread.
If you are planning to travel, please call ALEC 800.762.9988 or send us a secure e-mail through your online banking account in advance of your travel dates.
When sending an e-mail though your online banking account, please include your:
- Travel Dates
- Contact Information when Traveling.
How can I keep my account from becoming inactive? You must make at least one transaction (deposit, withdrawal, or transfer) to your savings, checking or money market account within a 24 month period; or have an open share certificate, IRA or HSA or; have an open loan, mortgage or ALEC credit card or; have an active relationship with ALEC Investment Advisors. Memberships owned by minors are exempt from ALEC's Inactive Membership policy.
If any of the above criteria do not occur or exist within a 24 month period, your account will be considered inactive. An inactivity fee will be assessed each quarter the account remains inactive, as outlined in ALEC's Fee Schedule.
