financial coaching

Coaching you to financial freedom.

The ALEC Financial Coaching Program is designed to help our members, from all walks of life, take control of their financial lives. The program focuses on the following foundational financial topics:

  • Budgeting
  • Consolidating debt
  • Developing a spending plan
  • Building an emergency savings

When you decide to take advantage of ALEC’s Financial Coaching program, you will work with one of ALEC’s Certified Financial Coaches. Rest assured, you’re working with someone with the experience and expertise to help you reach your financial goals. All ALEC Financial Coaches have earned the designation of Certified Credit Union Financial Coach (CCUFC) through the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). Additionally, each Financial Coach must re-certify every 3 years. Although this may seem like a hefty commitment on our part, we feel strongly that the value we are now able to provide to members in need of financial guidance is worth it.

Working with an ALEC Financial Coach

When meeting with a Financial Coach, you will complete the following process to improve your financial well-being:

Step 1: Share your goals and financial history. The information shared with the ALEC Financial Coach is completely confidential.

Step 2: The ALEC Financial Coach will share a personalized plan-of-action with you.

Step 3: If you agree to the plan, you and the ALEC Financial Coach will work together to start engaging the plan. This may include debt or loan consolidation, having you review your personal budget on a regular basis, and more.

Step 4: After the plan is put in place, your ALEC Financial Coach will recommend reviewing your plan on a semi-annual basis to make sure you stay on track.
