Teller

Job
Summary:
Interact with credit union members to accurately
conduct all credit and debit transactions in
compliance with established credit union policies and
procedures. The incumbent will also develop and
maintain account relationships, provide solutions, and
resolve member problems through
quality service and product knowledge while maximizing
cross-selling opportunities.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
 |
Greet members with a smile in a friendly,
courteous and professional manner. |
 |
Perform routine member transactions, including,
but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash
advances, loan payments, transfers and check cashing
on credit union data processing system. |
 |
Sell and process travelers cheques, savings bonds,
Corporate Drafts, attraction tickets and gift cards.
|
 |
Process information pertaining to members’
accounts and route to proper department for
processing. |
 |
Provide in person, by telephone or mail such
explanation as member authorizes concerning their
account. |
 |
Educate member on value added products and
services and employ related cross-selling/service
standards. |
 |
Assist members in opening sub accounts.
|
 |
Daily opening and closing of terminal; accounting
for assigned cash; balancing to terminal close
report; remitting daily work to supervisor, and
other support activities. |
 |
Adherence to all policies and procedures.
|
 |
Maintain a professional appearance and image while
conducting business with members and vendors.
|
 |
Other duties as assigned by the Teller Supervisor.
|
Successful Teller Candidate Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum six months Teller experience, one year or more
of retail experience and/or cash handling, ability to
function in a fast-paced, professional sales
environment
Skills: Must
have the ability to effectively communicate with
members both verbally and in writing. Courtesy, tact,
and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. The
work involves personal contact with others inside and
outside the organization. Must be good with details
to deal with numbers and names. Must use a ten key
calculator and computer keyboard by touch. |
Teller
Supervisor

Job
Summary:
Responsible for executing service and sales
strategies to achieve overall credit union goals and
objectives. Manage tellers in the areas of service,
account transactions and product promotion, while
meeting organizational compliance, quality and
security standards.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
 |
Implement defined service programs to the teller
staff, while motivating them to operate at or above
organizational service standards. |
 |
Implement defined product promotion programs to the
teller staff, while motivating them to meet or
exceed organizational product promotion
expectations. |
 |
Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff,
maintaining effective employee relations and
personal responsibility. |
 |
Help select quality applicants
for teller vacancies, ensuring that the teller line
is adequately staffed. |
 |
Meet quality expectations in the areas of teller
transactions, branch audits, member file audits and
other teller operations. |
 |
Schedule and give performance reviews and recommend
salary adjustments. |
 |
Ensure compliance with all state and federal credit
union regulations. |
 |
Ensure compliance with credit union internal
controls. |
 |
Monitor office activity, including ATM's, teller
errors, teller sales, vault controls, cash controls,
check administration, and security/safety procedures
and processes. |
 |
Other duties as assigned. |
Successful Teller Candidate Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Three year with
full-service financial institution. Knowledge of
credit union products, services and data processing
system. Supervisory experience.
Skills: Member/customer
loyalty skills, organization, communication,
problem-solving and computer skills. |
